Fire Industry Association:
The Fire Industry Association, or the FIA as we are more commonly known, is a not-for-profit trade association with the aim of promoting the professional status of the UK fire safety industry.

Their objective is to promote, improve and perfect fire protection methods, devices, services, and apparatus. They achieve this through the representation of our members, providing technical support, guidance, and opportunities for professional advancement through education and appropriate regulation.

They promote and shape legislation and the professional standards of the fire industry through close liaison with government and official bodies, as well as other key stakeholders. They also provide funding for research projects in line with their principal objectives.

BAFE:
Established in 1984, BAFE is a non-profit-making organisation dedicated to improving standards in fire protection. It is supported, amongst others, by the government, Trading Standards and the Health and Safety Executive. BAFE adopts third party certification schemes developed by independent certification bodies and, where there are no relevant schemes in place, develops its own.

BAFE is completely independent and therefore is a totally unbiased party to help competent companies and people in need of fire protection services find each other. There are registered companies across the UK and are both large nationals and smaller regional businesses who have all achieved the same high-quality standards.
